Open letter to online applicants
People, please.
You are filling out an application for employment. You are not texting your bestie about OMG that supa fly dude you met at the Starbucks last Saturday night.
Use proper grammar.
Use Capitol letters for proper nouns and at the start of a sentence
Use punctuation!
Don't say things like "my ex boss" when giving a reference.
Don't write N/A if you don't know, find out and then complete your application and submit it.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE LEAVE OUT VOWELS TO SAVE TIME! YOU ARE NOT ON A LIMIT WITH HOW MANY LETTERS YOU CAN USE!
If you write "I am a people person" I will immediately shred your application.

Hi Peeps,
I just realized it has been forever since I posted, or even read any HR Blogs.
Things are going well, still plugging along in HR.
Here are a few significant things that have happend since I last posted.
Got accepted to Grad School! (leaving HR to go into Education? Hmmmm maybe!)
Legally Divorced. I guess you can't be illegally divorced though can you?
Quit smoking
Moved out of the marital home into my OWN place
Got rid of the TV (well, not the TV but cable, or digital, or whatever gives you channels. That shit is expensive, yo!) Don't worry I read the news still and watch LOST and Desparate Housewives on HULU and got my 7-year-old a refrigertator box to play in, so she doesnt even notice there is no icarly or Hannah Montana to fry her brain and make her act stupid.
The season is starting up here, hiring lots of folks, getting their housing squared away (be glad you don't have to house your employees, TRUST ME on this one)and next week is the first New Staff Orientation.
When I started this gig the NSO was three days long, it is now a day and a half. That's progress!
I hope it's not another 4 months before I remember to blog again!
